End of phase 1 - Assessment Day ....

Its the last day of Phase 1. The Instructor candidates have been fairly nervous about today. In fact they have been nervous about it throughout phase 1. Some trying to casually ask questions, others have actually said they dont want to know. Well today is assessment day.

Recently I had time to reflect on who and how I spend my time with. I am really lucky to to make a living doing something I love (Teaching Krav Maga - an Israeli martial art ) I was struck by the difference in attitudes of the folks I spend my training time with and the non krav people in my life.

The Instructor recruits have settled in really well. Great group, keen to learn, keen to train and really "up for it".  They have been covering the principles of Krav Maga and applying them to basic techniques and basic threats. On the whole its a really strong group with some really great characters.

I get some strange calls sometimes.

Recently I have had 2 simmilar queries from people on the phone regarding my politics  and Krav Maga. Not so long back I also had some probing questions from a journalist. This happens around once a year, often tied up with some political turmoil.

I am wary after one Krav Maga instructor i knew was set up by a TV crew.
