2010 Timetable - Clifton
The new 2010 timetable. Its based around what you wanted from your training.
What you said.
CrossFit
You wanted.....
To keep Crossfit. 84% Wanted to keep CrossFit or extend it. But some of you expressed concerns that CrossFit eats into Krav Time.
So we did...
We kept CrossFit on Mondays and Wednesdays and have increased the total amount of Krav Maga training time in Clifton to 5 Clifton sessions a week. If there is sufficient interest - we can add a CrossFit session saturday. CrossFit is VOLUNTARY, classes are packed so feel free to miss it out if you dont want to do it.
Note. We added an additional session - Saturday 4pm. The weekend sessions are subject to demand and need a minimum of 10 people per session to be viable. Prior to christmas break sundays had an average attendance of only 5 people in Clifton.
Is there anything you would like changed ?
You wanted.....
More progression through the syllabus, more emphasis on advanced techniques, classes divided by ability level, advanced classes, more sparring, more pressure testing, knife techniques introduced from the very first stages of training. More seminars like F.A.S.T and Wagner training
So we did....
Classes will be split into ability groups more - specialist classes will be every tuesday focusing on curriculum areas with a Level 1,2 group at 7 pm. An advanced group will follow at 8 pm covering level 3,4 and fighting. As requested - these groups are divided by ability and you need to be a green belt, apprentice instructor or to have attended for 2 years or more to attend. In exceptional circumstances i will invite more able students to attend who do not qualify.
We will schedule Wagner training - FAST and continue with Boot Camps.
In addition we will include more sparring/fight practice. This will be taught in 3 seperate ways.
Slow fighting practice - all abilities
Light Sparring - once basic blocking, moving and striking skills are established.
Full sparring - advanced levels - heavy contact - throws, groundfighting etc
You wanted ....
More pressure testing, tougher session instead of CrossFit sometimes.
So we did.....
Tuesdays class will replace CrossFit with tough curriculum based training focusing on power and pressure testing the syllabus.
Do beginners effect your training ?
You said...
No 54%
Sometimes 38%
So we did.....
We used to provide trial lessons monday, tuesday or wednesday. We now only run trial sessions on tuesdays and at weekends. We will continue this as long as its viable.
Last but not least - Weston training
There was not enough support to run CrossFit at Weston but there is significant interest in longer classes. I will approach the student group about running 2 x 90 minute sessions. However we are a business and cant provide additional training for free. As a consequence I propose to increase the fees slightly (£3 a month) to subsidise the longer sessions.
