I continue to watch with some kind of grim fascination as the Commando Krav Maga train wreck continues. My irritation with Aizik and his nefarious claims has been replaced increasingly by pity for those who got involved with the man.

He reminds me of a gentleman I used to look after as a psychiatric nurse many years ago. We will call him Ron (not his real name). Ron had no money, had never worked and lived in a long stay Psychiatric unit. He was very presentable, very plausible, but was delusional and suffered from hypomania. I had a real soft spot for Ron, his exploits were legendary and often staff would recant his recent adventures to a new student nurse or zealous social worker.

Although Ron was not a danger to others as such, he did bring a little rain into the lives of some who got involved with him. But he was a real character and endearing to all that knew him. He was so plausible that his escapades were legendary.

When unwell (which was sadly frequent) he believed he was a Hospital Consultant and all the hospital staff worked for him.

It was not usual for him to turn up to the Psychiatric unit with some attractive lady or another following her new ‘consultant’ boyfriend to meet some of his staff. Why they never cottoned on till they came to the unit is beyond me.

Typically they would be taken to the side by a nurse or Dr - as discretely as possible, after which they would depart with some haste. In fact ‘Ron’ was so convincing that all sorts of people were caught out by him.

One of Rons moments of fame was when a visiting Psychiatrist met Ron outside the unit. Ron introduced himself as Consultant Psychiatrist and escorted the Psychiatrist into the unit and took him to a small meeting room. At some stage of the proceedings a nurse discovered Ron and ‘colleague’ - who to his horror (and our amusement) realised Ron was not all he claimed to be.

On one occasion Ron even turned up with a Brand new Mercedes Benz car he managed to obtain for a test drive. Rons list went on from time shares, Tv’s, loans, credit cards cars and women. He even (almost) blagged his way on to a plane as a Dr - the minor issue of a passport, police and security interviened - much to Rons irritation and disbelief.

His arrival ‘home’ was something to behold. Police cars, a Police van, full police escort, and a handcuffed and indignant Ron. “Do you realise who you have arrested - parliament shall hear of this - heads will roll” and so on.

He got detained (again) for that and his social life was curtailed for 6 months or so.

Sadly Ron died a premature death. Years of medication, poor diet, and chaotic lifestyle took its toll and Ron died in his early 50’s. One day he visited the hospital as an outpatient and confided he preferred being ‘ill’ (elated in mood) life was better, more vivid, more exciting.

Moni - reminds me of ‘Ron”. Charming, convincing and manipulative. But Ron was Mad - Moni is just bad. He chooses what he does and makes a lot of money doing it.

The parallels between Moni and Ron are distinct and very clear. Like Moni, Ron played people on their needs. Ron seemed to sense just what people wanted to see and then played the part. Aiziks students need him to be an ex secret agent/assassin/commando etc as much as he wants their money. They need to be part of that.

Suddenly they are no longer Ken from accounts, but Ken the Unarmed Combat Instructor who trains with (by association) the same worlds elite special forces etc. In fact this is so important to some that they will suspend disbelief - no matter what they are faced with.

The commando costumes, the videos, the marketing, its all aimed to mislead. And its highly successful. No matter what comes out about Moni - there cant be much more can there (?) there will always be a new believer for Moni. Another revenue stream to exploit.

Whilst its beyond me how anyone would hand over $2000 for 3 or 4 days with a well know (and now well documented) fake there obviously is still ‘one born every minute’ for Moni to take advantage of. But now its on the net, its everywhere - read it learn and dont be fooled.
