We use a range of basic focus mitt drills for novices to krav maga.

The objective of the drills to is to teach form, speed, power and co -ordination. At Krav Maga Training Centres we teach this way as it reflects real world violence, and its research based. Good Krav Maga should always be combat evolved.

Our Novice students start with Hand based drills - our research tells us that in real life, almost 70% of attackers went straight to the head and were at punching distance.

Only 1% of assaults involved kicks to a standing victim.

Our responce to this is to teach new krav maga students the 360 blocks and basic hand skills. These are the foundation of any reality based approach to self defence.

Remember these are just training drills and part of the Krav Maga approach.

We dont say left or right - just front or rear hand.The emphasis should always be to stop the threat - defend and counter in the shortest time possible and break away fro the attacker at every opportunity.
